Adam Silver, the NBA Commissioner since 2014, has been a lawyer since 1990, when he clerked for Judge Richard Posner on the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit. Prior to that, he practiced law at Kirkland & Ellis in Chicago and served as Deputy Solicitor General in the Office of the Illinois Attorney General. Silver previously worked in sports law with Jones Day in New York City and with Jones Lipski in Chicago.
